| FRESH PICKS FUN & GAMES | July 2005 Who doesn't love summer? We certainly do. Our work doesn't slow down (it's THE season for tees and tanks) but we try to carve out time for the outdoors as much as possible. But what about when it's just too hot to do much? We've already had lots of hot and humid days in New York and it's not even August yet. How do you beat the heat; cool off, stay fresh? CHERRY TEE wants to know. Submit your favorite ways to Beat the Heat (see contest details below) and if it's voted the best, most creative and unique entry, you'll win a one-year FAVORITES TEE-OF-THE-MONTH CLUB subscription.  | 10. Drink as much ice-cold lemonade as possible, especially if made by the neighborhood kids 9. Have "fruit night." We have a dinner of healthy, refreshing fruit (with both Bing and Rainier cherries, naturally) with a side of cottage cheese or yogurt once a week. Yum. 8. Make coffee smoothies. Save extra coffee from the morning, put into blender, add ice cold milk, some Splenda and ice and whirr away. Or make a decadent iced mocha blended. |
| 7. Get to the beach as often as possible. Thanks Melody, Phil, Bill, Justin and Michelle 6. Reminisce. Ride your bike, breathe in the freshly cut grass, visit your old sleep-away camp, remember the joys of being a kid. 5. Travel by Ferry. We love to visit Block Island; the ride cools you off, no matter the temperature. If you can't get away, ride the NY Water Taxi or a ferry near you. It's a mini-vacation! |  |
 | 4. Capture moments. It doesn't keep you cool, but you'll love having the photos later. 3. Grill. And of course, get your husband, boyfriend, brother, dad to do it. 2. See movies. Indoors in air conditioning, sure, but when temperate, get to an outdoor festival. In NY, there are free films in Bryant Park, RiverFlicks in Riverside Park, Rooftop Films in Williamsburg and our favorite, in Brooklyn Bridge Park, Movies with a View. Entries will be judged on originality, creativity and best interpretation of contest theme. Your entry should include your 10 Beat the Heat ideas, address and phone number. The Grand Prize winner and runners-up will be notified by email and/or phone on or about August 15, 2005. By entering the contest, all participants consent to the commercial use of their names, pictures, likenesses, and "Beat the Heat" ideas (with rights to edit or adapt those ideas) without further compensation. If winners do not respond within 10 days, prizes will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner. Judge's decision shall be final. Odds of winning depend upon number of eligible entries received. Beginning on September 1, you may request a list of winners by emailing offers@cherrytee.com or mailing your request to the address below.
